In all cases where a separation process is required, INOXPA can integrate highly efficient disc centrifugal separators into its process solutions.
Centrifugal separators are used to separate solids from liquids or to separate different types of liquids by differences in density.
They can be used with milk, juices, beer, wine, infusions, oils and many other liquid food products.
The main applications and advantages of centrifugal separation are:
- Clarification or cleaning. Solids removal. Filtration cost reduction.
- Removal of bacteria and spores. Better quality and longer shelf life products are obtained.
- Whey or milk fat or cream separation. Skimmed or semi-skimmed milk or whey is obtained.
Operating principle
The product is introduced into a bowl rotating at high speed.
The centrifugal force separates the product components by their density. The product has to pass through a small space between discs, meaning small particles requiring removal deposit out.
The higher density product flows through the side outlet due to a centripetal pump that pressurises the product.
The less dense product flows through the central outlet, also under pressure.
Lastly, any solids that accumulate around the edge of the bowl are regularly removed.
